2026/2027  Precept Annual payment of 93.48 per annum Band D

2026/2027   Precept Annual payment of 83.09.per annum Band C

 

                   The Parish Precept Band D is a rise of £8.87 per annum 

                                  Band C is a rise of £7.88 per annum

The Parish Council maintain/manages the: Park, Pavilion /Tearoom, Lumb Clough, Hangingstone Quarry/Lunds Tower, Crag Nook delph, Allotments, 58 Street Lights amongst other things.

The Council employs one: Full time Park Keeper, a Part time Clerk, Park Keepers Assistant and a Pavilion Manager/Staff (all from the village).

Some of the costs the precept goes to:

Maintenance of equiqment, surfacing, urban grass cutting, public toilets, fuel, electricity, water, gas, street lights, CCTV, tree works, salaries, Tax & National Insurance, Pensions, Admin, Waste management, Audit, Grants, Insurance, Lighting etc

Over a number of  previous years the Parish Council has kept the increase of the Precept low using its reserves however, now those reserves/contingency are very low and along with the significant increases in costs the council has had to increase the precept by Band C £7.88 per annum.
