  1. NYC Street Lights - Change of clocks

Streetlights in North Yorkshire with part-night lighting may appear to be adjusting their clock change timing around this time, but this is normal as they automatically recalibrate over the next couple of weeks. The change is due to daylight savings, and the lights will adjust on their own. You do not need to report it to the council unless the issue persists.

    • Automatic calibration: The streetlights are equipped with automatic, pre-set timers or photocells that adjust to the change in daylight hours.
    • Temporary adjustment: Because of the clock change, the lights may switch off earlier than usual for a short period as they re-sync.
    • No report needed: The system is designed to recalibrate itself, so there is no need to report this to North Yorkshire Council unless the issue is not fixed within a couple of weeks.
